Description

The Captains Golf Course is owned and operated by the Town of Brewster. It is named for the many sea captains that were known to reside in Brewster in the early 1800's. The original 18-hole layout was opened in 1985 and was named by GOLF DIGEST magazine as the "Best New Public Golf Course In The Country". In 1999, the Captains opened 18 additional holes merging the new and existing holes to form the Port Course and the Starboard Course. World-renowned golf course architect, Brian Silva, designed both the original layout as well as the additional holes. In the year 2000, GOLF WORLD magazine named Brian Silva Architect of the Year for his work on the Captains as well as many other golf courses he has designed. The new courses have received rave reviews from such publications as: SPORTS ILLUSTRATED, GOLF DIGEST, GOLF FOR WOMEN, and MAXIMUM GOLF, as well as many others. Both courses offer a championship layout with superb conditions.
